Grandma's Dove Pie


10-15 Doves, Pigeons(squab), or Duck/Goose Meat

Half and Half, Butter, Flour, Chicken Broth, Salt, Pepper

2 Cans Peas/carrots, 1/2 onion, 1 clove garlic, and Pie crust.


Cube meat into 3/8" pieces and boil in Chicken broth and water for 1-2 minutes.

Make Roux in sauce pan. Melt butter. Add 1/2 cup Half and Half and 1/2 cup Chicken Broth.  Thicken with Flour.  Add salt and pepper to taste.

Add 2 cans Peas/Carrots, 1/2 diced onion, 1 clove diced garlic.

Add meat and stir for 1 minute.

Pour mixture into Pie shell in a pie pan.  Cover with other half of Pie shell.

Bake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees.
